Need help using our book builder? Fear not! Check out the most common issues below.
Spoiler Alert: Most issues in the book builder are resolved by making sure your browser is updated and/or clearing your cache!
*I cannot click on the photo editing module in the middle of my photo.
Ibeam Cursor Icon Example (Above)
- If you are seeing the "Ibeam" cursor icon (pictured above) when hovering over your photo after uploading into the book, please make sure your book is saved, clear your cache, and refresh the page. You may need to open your book again from your account page, so please make sure you have saved your progress before clearing the cache and refreshing.
*My photo appears to flicker when I hover over it in the book.

*The book builder just looks a little wonky.
- If some book builder functionality just seems a little off, please make sure that your browser has been updated to the most recent version and try editing your book again.
*My photos aren't on my computer. What's the best way to transfer them from my phone?
- UPDATE SPRING 2025: Great news! You can now build a Stareworthy book entirely from your mobile device! Just choose your book, click the "Start Personalizing" button, and upload your photos directly from your smartphone. If you prefer to work from a desktop but have your photos stored on your phone, you can start your bookmaking process on your mobile device, and after you upload your photos into the photo gallery, you can save your project and resume your work from your desktop.
- If you use an Apple devices (iPhone, MacOS) and your photos are not synced across your devices, AirDropping your photos from your iPhone to your Mac will be the fastest and best option.
- Helpful Hint: Sending photos via email or text message will likely decrease the quality of your image files, as many devices will automatically compress the files in order to send them. Please ensure you are uploading high quality images into your book, so you can have the best print quality possible!
